Got an e-mail about this film today, it is a documentary on fixed gear culture in Paris. The riding and production looks great, got a bit of polo in there too!
Look forward to seeing the finished product.

A few months ago during a polo game, we noticed someone on top of the shopping center car park taking photos of us. Then recently we were informed that there was a photo of us in the baltic! I haven’t managed to find the physical exhibition yet, but an article with the photo is online here: http://www.balticmill.com/showusasecret/#4

Speaking of polo… We no longer play on Tuesdays as it gets dark shortly after breakfast. We may play the occasional Sunday game so check here or the forum for dates, but we are on the lookout for a floodlit or undercover court for the winter. There is a ride happening this Thursday to find one, and if you have any suggestions, leave a comment.
Last night was Round#1, Newcastle upon Tyne’s first fixed gear event, and it went great! There was a massive turnout, bigger than what people were expecting I think, and the whole night was a lot of fun, good to meet a few new people too.
We met at 6PM and had the first event, the race. It was a short route from The Tyne Bar to The Cooperage, and back to Tesco, where you had to buy a drink (which some idiot forgot about), then a final sprint to the finish back at the Tyne. First place went to Rob and Tommy Lee came second.
Next up were the competitions, most people had a go at a few skids, then it went down to Ricky and Tommy Lee to battle it out for first place. I think Ricky won in the end out of pure determination.
Finally we had the trackstand comp which lasted longer than expected. Tom Whittle was the winner. We ended the night with a screening of Macaframa and Fast Friday. Thanks to all who came and Tom & Tom for organising the whole thing. Can’t wait for Round#2!
Apparently prizes are on their way from 14bikeco for the winners. If anyone has any photographs from the night, let me know.
Newcastle’s first fixed event is less than a week away. It will begin at The Tyne Bar at 6PM. The night will include a short race, skid comp, trackstand comp, hillclimb and fixed gear films at The Tyne later. Will be great to get as many people down as possible. All welcome.

Newcastle didn’t attend this last week but it looks like it was a lot of fun.
